The Punjab government, under the leadership of Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, has declared a four-day holiday for schools, colleges, and universities from February 6 to February 9 in preparation for the general elections on February 8, 2024.
Naqvi shared this information on Twitter, mentioning that the adjusted school timings (starting at 9:30 am due to harsh weather conditions) will be in effect until February 3. With the public holiday for Kashmir Day on February 5, educational institutions are set to reopen on February 12, resulting in a week-long break for schools and colleges in Punjab, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Sialkot.
The official notification regarding the election holiday will be issued by the Punjab government soon.
