“If the additional tests confirm the initial findings, Naseem, who is 20 years old, might have to take a break from playing for several months. This means he might not be able to join the Test series in Australia at the beginning of next year, and his participation in the next Pakistan Super League is also uncertain,” it added.
During Pakistan’s second game against India at the Asia Cup last week, in the 46th over, Naseem had to leave the field on the reserve day scheduled for that match. Shortly afterward, the cricket board released a statement saying that he would not be able to play for the rest of the tournament.
Naseem injured a muscle just below his bowling shoulder, and it’s not the same as any previous shoulder injuries he had.
Zaman Khan, who replaced Naseem during the Asia Cup, might be chosen to play in the World Cup if necessary.
The cricket board will make the final decision once they receive the results from Naseem Shah’s additional scans in a few days.
