HEC Law GAT Online Registration Schedule 2024 has announced. HEC has released the schedule for the Law Graduate Assessment Test (LAW GAT) 2024. Set to occur on January 7, 2024, this test is mandatory for LLB graduates aspiring for Bar Council Registration. Applications for LAW-GAT 2023 are open for online submission via the HEC portal until December 25, 2023.
Eligible candidates, who have completed a Bachelor’s in Law or its equivalent from an HEC/PBC recognized university, can register online through http://etc.hec.gov.pk. It’s essential for LLB graduates planning to practice law to undergo the HEC LAW-GAT before stepping into the legal profession.
The test will comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Applicants who register via HEC’s online process can download their Roll Number Slips from http://etc.hec.gov.pk a week before the test. Registered candidates will receive email/SMS notifications containing test details—date, time, and venue. Providing a valid email and mobile number during the application is mandatory. Access to the Test Centre will require presenting the printed Roll Number Slip and original CNIC.
The deadline to apply for HEC Law GAT 2024 is December 25, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria for HEC Law GAT 2024:
Individuals holding a Bachelor’s degree in Law from an HEC and PBC recognized university are eligible.
HEC-Law GAT Test Centers:
The test will be held at various centers including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Sukkur, Abbottabad, Quetta, Multan, Hyderabad, Turbat, Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, and Gilgit. Applicants can select their preferred test Centre during the application process. However, a minimum of 250 applicants must select a center for the test to be conducted there. Once a Test Centre is selected during registration, changes won’t be entertained.
How to Register for HEC Law Graduate Assessment Test GAT 2023:
Visit http://etc.hec.gov.pk for online registration. For assistance during online registration, visit onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk, HEC Secretariat, or HEC Regional Centers. The application process involves completing the profile in the “My Profile” section and submitting the application via the “Law Graduate Assessment Test” link in the menu panel. Only submitted applications will be considered; those in save or incomplete mode won’t be entertained.
The test fee of Rs. 3000/- must be paid through participating banks/ATM/Internet Banking/Mobile Banking/Easypaisa/JazzCash/Upaisa using 1Link 1Bill invoice. After payment, verify it on the ETC Dashboard. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Candidates must resolve queries/complaints before the web registration closure.
On the test day, candidates must bring a printout of the paid fee receipt via 1Link, Roll Number Slip, original CNIC/Passport, else entry to the test center won’t be permitted.
Additional Requirements/Conditions:
A 50% score is needed to pass the Law-GAT.
Candidates must fulfill any other criteria as per PBC Rules and Regulations.
Candidates have three attempts to clear the Law-GAT, which HEC conducts thrice a year.
